Coconut Soap in Great Demand

From the business production area in the Sopu Warehouse one of the product that is catching the attention of the market is the coconut soap. “Our coconut soaps for is sold in three places apart from our office” said Salote, Soap Production Officer “now it is at ‘Isi Store, Langa Fonua ‘a Fefine Tonga and Sinipata shop in Longolongo”

According to Salote when her coconut soap first hit the market people were not aware that there is such a product also produce from the VCO Unit (TNYC RESULT Project).

In the past month we have done and in house training to staff from the outer island (a two team member from Vava’u and two member from ‘Eua office) on soap making, so a similar business is set up in our office branch in Vava’u and ‘Eua.  The next training will be for the team from our office from Ha’apai.

“The demand for the soap is rising” said Salote “we can hardly keep up with the order that come from these stores. We haven’t yet to start working with hotels and the accommodation business for selling our soap and oil in that area.
